If the back is lifting
My back glass is coming away. Is that the battery?
Almost certainly, and it's the one we'd ask you not to leave. A swelling cell pushes the back off the frame and can vent. Stop charging it and bring it down.
Do you check anything else while it's open?
Yes — we test the charging circuit and the USB-C port first, so we're not replacing a healthy battery when the real fault is the port.
