The battery is glued across most of the inside of an iPad, so replacing one means getting the display off first and then releasing the cell without deforming it.

The display is coming away at the edge. Is that serious?
Yes — that's a swelling cell pushing the screen off the frame, and it can vent. Stop charging it and bring it in. This is the one we'd ask you not to postpone.
