Switch won't charge
The USB-C port on a Switch works harder than on almost any other device — docked, undocked, docked again, several times a day. It wears out.

How we approach it
- Look in the port first — compacted lint alone is the whole problem more often than you'd think.
- Test the charging chip behind it, especially if a third-party dock is in the story.
- Replace the USB-C connector under the microscope if it's worn.
- Charge it, dock it, and put it on a TV before we call you.

About that dock
A cheap dock killed mine. Is it done for?
Usually not. That damage normally lands on the charging chip or the port, and both are replaceable at component level. It's one of the most common jobs we do.
It charges but won't dock.
Often the same port — docking uses the video pins, which can fail while the power pins still work. It can also be the dock itself, and we'll test both so you're not buying a dock you don't need.
